The language has a rich history and is written using Chinese characters, which are logograms rather than an alphabetic system. Mandarin’s grammar is relatively straightforward compared to many other languages, with no tenses or plurals in the traditional sense. The language is primarily spoken in the northern and southwestern regions of China, but due to China’s global influence, Mandarin is also widely studied and spoken around the world.
